About IP Lens
A lens through which you can see what your IP address, network and browser reveal to the websites you visit.
Why IP Lens exists
Every website you open receives your public IP address and a set of browser signals. Most people never see that information, so it is hard to judge what a VPN, a browser setting or a network change actually does.
IP Lens shows those details in plain language: your public IPv4 or IPv6 address, the approximate location and network operator behind it, WebRTC and IPv6 exposure, VPN and proxy signals, browser fingerprint surface and real connection speed.
How the tools work
Checks run on our own server and in your browser. Location and network data come from established IP intelligence providers and are always labelled as estimates. When a check cannot produce a reliable result, IP Lens reports “Unknown” instead of guessing.
The speed test measures the route between your browser and the IP Lens server, without third-party measurement scripts. Exact IP addresses are not used as cache keys, and visit statistics are aggregated by country, browser and device.
Editorial approach
Our guides explain networking and privacy topics such as public IP addresses, IPv4 and IPv6, IP geolocation, VPNs and DNS or WebRTC leaks. Each guide is written and reviewed by the IP Lens team, describes limitations honestly and shows the date it was last updated.
We do not sell VPNs and we do not rank providers for payment. If you find an error, please tell us through the contact page and we will review and correct it.
Advertising
IP Lens is free to use. To cover hosting costs, some pages may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertising never changes test results, and ads are kept clearly separated from tool buttons and results.
